"Be still and know that I am God"
Psalms 46:10 NIV
The word holy means "to separate". The ancestry of the term can be traced back to an ancient word which means "to cut." To be holy, then, is to be a cut above the norm, superior, extraordinary.... The Holy One dwells on a different level from the rest of us. What frightens us does not frighten him. What troubles us does not trouble him. When you set your sights on our God, you focus on "a cut above" any storm life may bring....You find peace.
Grace For the Moment by Max Lucado
Today has been a very crazy day! Stormy weather has kept us in and out of our classroom (more than normal). We had to also stay in the halls for a while due to tornado warning. As I am typing..I can hear the sirens going off for another warning.
During these times I could see some of my students scared and not sure of what was going to happen. I work with special needs students and they don't always understand. Like all children they wanted pats, hugs and assurances that all would be okay.
I feel the same way alot of times. I am so thankful that I can go to my Heavenly Father and HE will give me pats, hugs and assurances that all will be okay. HE will send someone to encourage me, hug me, smile and yes even pat me on the back just when I need them.
During the storms of life I have to sometimes just "be still" and be reminded that God is in control and HE will take care of me through the storms.
CALM ... in His PEACE

Hey Darlene,
I think since my life has been so rocky, I have loved this verse all the more.
Re: the picture, you can enlarge it. I know you will find the face then.
Still in my prayers, my friend.
What a beautiful picture you paint of how the Lord comforts and holds us close. I love it!
Have a great weekend, Darlene.
I love this, and I love you. You remain in my prayers.
Sweet picture of comfort!! and I love to read Lucado's books. May you find lots of pats from God this week or better yet--hugs!!
Heartwarming insight here! We most often forget to be still, I tend to fret and worry when things go wrong, forgetting that I have a God who cares about every little thing that bugs me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
