Armor of God Prayer

It seems every which way I turn I am hearing of family, friends, co-workers that are under attack...Spiritual Attack! I know that my family is not the only one under attack.
Several years ago my Sunday school class went through a study on the Armor of God. I learned so much from this study. Put my armor on everyday for a while ...then like other things tend to get relaxed and then the next thing you know you are not putting on the armor.I am currently reading a book that has "Armor of God Prayer" listed has a prayer to pray each morning to start your day.
With everything going on around us ...like the economy, financial scares, our children making decision that are not christian, our health, diseases, not to mention all the things going on out in the big big world...I wanted to share this prayer with you.
"Armor of God Prayer"
"Lord, I put on the belt of truth. Thank You that You provide us with the truth and that the truth has set me free. Next, I put on the breastplate of righteousness, which I know I have protecting me because Jesus is in my heart. Then I fit my feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, and I pray that I will walk in peace today and take every opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those I meet. I take up the shield of faith to guard my heart against all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I put on the helmet of salvation to protect my mind. Then, fully clothed in my spiritual armor, I take up the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and the only true weapon I have to fight the raging battle that surrounds me." Ephesians 6:10-18
I have this taped on my bathroom mirror ....where I can see it each morning as a reminder to make sure that I clothed myself in spiritual armor each day.
I have learned so much in these last months ....one of things that I have learned is we are under attack everyday and we must be prepared to face these flaming arrows..what better way than with the Armor of God!

So true. The armor of God is the only real protection we have.

Your mixpod is really neat. I have to set mine to shuffle, but so far I haven't touched it in fear of messing it up.

As my hubby was leaving this morning, he said "I've got my armor on"....he had a rough day yesterday. It was a reminder to me that I needed to get going this morning and put mine on as well. Thanks for sharing.

That is great Darlene! I love the way the prayer is worded, I am going to print that one out too and put it somewhere where I will see it lots.

I do usually pray on the armor... I pray it on my entire family, in my mind I see them all lined up and I pray each piece on piece by piece!

Have a great day!

Blessings!

You know, years ago - back in the '80's - I read a Christmas story in Moody Magazine. It forever changed how I looked at angels. The author painted a picture so vividly with his words of the spiritual warfare that took place in the heavens to prevent the birth of Christ.
Gone are my visions of winged little naked cherubs, or beautiful, long haired female angels in flowing dresses/gowns. I don't want my guardian angel to be like that! There is a warfare going on in the heavenlies and it flows down to us on the earth. Satan and his demons want nothing more than to have God's Children stumble and fall.

Thank you for this wonderful armor of God prayer. We must all be on guard.

RYC--I do understand that sometimes you just don't feel like blogging...been there myself.

And you are right....I have noticed that the attack has been rather strong lately.
It reminds me that I need to surround myself with the truth and fight it with my spirit man and not my physical man.
Good job at keeping your armor on.
Keep fighting!

This is a beautiful prayer, Darlene! It is so easy to get relaxed in different seasons of our lives.

I am praying for your daughter as I pray for my son. She is on my list of prodical children of friends...there are so many!

I saw your prayer request on Lighthouse of Prayer. I would like to post a prayer request on my blog for you, your daughter and all our prodical children...if you don't mind. Please let me know.

Still agreeing in prayer with you for her safe return to the Lord.

((hugs))
